My outreach
I strongly believe in the societal impact of research. Science should not only advance knowledge but also matter to the people and society it concerns! Making my work useful and accessible beyond academia is therefore something I care deeply about.
One way I pursue this is through my affiliation with the research consortium UGent@Work, which aims to make labour market research more visible and accessible through active research communication.
My research has been featured across a wide range of Belgian media — from television and radio to newspapers and magazines — including VRT NWS, De Morgen, De Standaard, De Tijd, Gazet van Antwerpen, Het Belang van Limburg, Het Laatste Nieuws, Het Nieuwsblad, Humo, Trends, JOE, #ZigZagHR, and so on.
I am also increasingly keen to engage with broader audiences more directly. Recent steps in that direction include organising workshops at Day of Science and appearing as a guest on the HERuitgevonden podcast (TBA). It is a type of engagement I hope to pursue more in the future.
